Attention: Visible, Vibrant and Prosperous Women!

There are any number of national holidays we celebrate in June which I could reference with this picture:  Entrepreneurs “Do It Yourself” Marketing, Effective Communications, Rebuild Your Life, even Surf Music. The picture was taken in Half Moon Bay after all. The home of the world-famous Mavericks Surf Contest. But I’m not going to talk about any of them.

I’m going to talk about Poka Dot Powerhouse (PDP). I recently discovered this international organization filled with fabulous, amazing and caring women. I was excited to see that there was a chapter right down the highway from my home! I have been traveling across the greater Bay Area to network, and I have loved all the wonderful relationships I’ve been able to establish because of that networking. However, I did not enjoy all the driving over the hill from the Coastside.

PDP’s philosophy empowers women to build relationships and make connections by emphasizing the importance of addressing who we are as individuals in the business of life before stressing who we are as women in business. The result of that school of thought is that when Dots connect (as members call each other), they build lifelong friendships. Yes, many of the women are business owners, and business relationships often flourish because of Dot connections.

I’d like to stress here that you do not have to have a business to become a member of Polka Dot Powerhouse. You do have to be a woman seeking to be visible, vibrant and prosperous…meaning you pursue the business of life with gusto. You must have a desire to build friendships based on the fact women need the company of other like-minded women to succeed in the business of life! I admit that’s exactly why I joined. I’m selfish. I need friends. I wanted girlfriends to have lunch with, meet me for tea, and occasionally an adventure to play. If I can support any of my sister Dot’s in sharing their story, I’ll be happy to help them find the words and the way to connect with who needs to hear them.

Are you a visible, vibrant and prosperous woman seeking support as you pursue the business of life? I invite you to check out a meeting near you. There are chapters across the United States and Canada. The picture above was from our recent Half Moon Bay PDP meeting where I was the guest speaker. I’m scheduled to speak at upcoming Palo Alto and San Mateo meetings. I look forward to seeing you there!
