It’s the start of a new year and National Be On Purpose Month.
Have you taken the time to reflect on the past year’s events or your life until this point? Perhaps you set some goals for the upcoming year based on these reflections. These goals all require changes to take place…decisions to guide you in living a life unleashed and being on purpose.
I know that people will only change when the behaviors that they have been using stops getting them the results that they want. The discomfort of the past, must be great enough for the person for them to want to change the future. When we set our goals for the future and aim to be more on purpose with who we want to be, we need to see and feel the past as uncomfortable.
Often, living on purpose leads to breaking your silence, unleashing from what is holding you back, being uncomfortable, and telling your truth.
The world is changing around you every minute. Many things we accepted as “the truth” in the ’50’s is no longer deemed appropriate by the law, common sense and human decency. These little children in the picture grew up in small town America and never saw an African American until they were adults. But they grew up praying for the children of the world every day and regularly contributed their milk money to ransom Pagan Babies.
The seeds of “serving” and “seeing” each other are planted within many of us in that manner. And because of that instruction and inspiration, I see us all having the same dream. We are all citizens in action every day to make the world a better place for all of us regardless of race, creed, color, age or religion.
We are all family…serving each other on purpose from the heart
