Resolution keeping – Coaxing Creativity Tuesday Tip Jan 11, 2011

ADaisyForMaryAre you like me? Were you among the 40-45% of American adults who made New Year’s resolutions? How are you doing with those resolutions? Did you vow to:  get healthy, learn to cook Italian, take up photography, spend more time smelling the flowers, stop smoking, get out of debt, clear the clutter, write that novel, produce a play, spend more time with the family, or finally take a vacation? Statistics tell us that about the second week in January 75% of us have already given up on our good intentions or gotten stuck in overwhelm because we choose a goal too big to achieve. Congratulations on wherever you are on the resolution spectrum! Congratulations to you for having the courage to change! It is because we make resolutions in the first place that we are 10 time more likely to overcome whatever obstacle we aspire to defeat than those who do not make resolutions.

Tomorrow is a brand new day with a clean slate and a chance to start fresh. Small changes and gentle shifts yield big results. My resolution is to keep making resolutions. What about you?
